How the journal is made
Editorial policy
The standards every recipe and guide in the journal is held to.
Originality
All recipes and guides are written for Recipe & Flow. We do not copy text or recipes from other publications. Classic dishes are, of course, shared by many cooks; when we publish one, we write our own method and explain the technique in our own words.
One recipe, one lesson
Every recipe names the technique it teaches and explains it in a short lesson box. If a recipe needs a technique that deserves more space, we link to a full guide.
Testing and accuracy
- Quantities are given in US units, with weights for key ingredients.
- Oven temperatures are given in °F with °C.
- Times include visual cues, because clocks alone are unreliable.
- Meat and poultry recipes include internal temperatures.
No health claims
We describe food in terms of flavor, texture, season and technique. We do not publish claims about health benefits, weight loss or disease, and we do not publish nutrition figures we cannot verify.
Images
We use freely licensed photographs with proper credit, or plain typographic cards. Photos are cropped for layout but not altered to misrepresent a dish.
Independence
Recipe & Flow shows no ads, publishes no sponsored posts and accepts no payment for recipes or reviews. We promote the site with Google Ads campaigns; that has no influence on what we publish.
Corrections
We correct errors promptly and update the revision date. Report a problem at [email protected].
